Herbst Wins a Second 2014 North Carolina Writers’ Network Award

Laura Herbst of Pittsboro is the winner of the 2014 Doris Betts Fiction Prize competition for her story “The Cliffs of Mobenga.” Herbst will receive a prize of $250 from the North Carolina Writers’ Network, and her story will be published in the North Carolina Literary Review’s 2015 issue. Herbst was also the recipient of this year’s Rose Post Creative Nonfiction Writing Award for her essay about breast cancer.
